All this and more in this week's edition of The Hypha Wire, from Hypha HubSpot Development.
Howdy y’all! Friday again.
I hope you enjoyed my podcast recommendations from last week. I wanted to continue that thread and talk about podcasts in a different way.
By now we all know that podcasting is an extremely popular form of entertainment. (There is a reported ~4.2m in distribution currently.) One of the best aspects of podcasting is how niche it can get.
All other forms of streaming entertainment need to appeal to a broad audience. With podcasting, you can have an extremely narrow subject matter and a small audience but still be successful, as long as the listeners are the right listeners.
It is an investment to formulate a podcast, however. As easy as it may seem, creating a professionally sounding podcast takes time and requires skill.
(Where are you going Sage, should I create a podcast or not?)
Frankly, that’s a conversation for a different day! There is another way to capitalize on podcasting without making as intense an investment: Being a guest.
Do you have expertise, or an opinion, or just consider yourself especially charming? Perfect! You’re ready to sit down for an interview.
Podcasts are always looking for industry experts, and it’s an easy way to garner awareness for your personal brand and company.
Here are a few simple tips to get started on your guesting journey:
Come up with a pitch. Compile a few topics you’re an expert about, put together a brief bio, and share any other relevant details like availability, time zone, etc.
Research podcasts. Find the top shows in your industry, and figure out what’s in reach for you. Use the category charts on Apple, Spotify, or check out a database like Podchaser.
Hunt for contact info. Many shows make it easy to reach out, with a dedicated form or email address. Sometimes you’ll have to do a little digging, but if it’s the right show it’s worth the effort.
Send your pitch. Be friendly, not demanding. Let them know why you’d be an asset on the show. If you’ve been a fan of the podcast for a while, tell them!
Be [their] guest. When it comes time for guesting, muster up all that courage, and hit the ground running. You were booked for a reason, and listeners love hearing from someone who’s passionate and engaged. It helps to have a few notes in front of you. Oh, and mind the ums.
Post-podcast. Don’t forget to share the episode on social! The podcasts use guests as a form of promotion for themselves, and a little bit of reciprocity goes a long way. Plus, it’s free content for you.
If you were waiting for a sign to start guesting, here it is! We all love hearing ourselves talk, right? Why not share what we’ve got with others.

How HubSpot’s Flywheel Approach Revolves Around Your Customers
By Daine Taylor, Inbound Content Developer, Hypha HubSpot Development
Let’s talk about something that’s shaking up the business world: the way we think about growth and customer relationships. Gone are the days when customers were just the final step in a sales funnel. Happy customers aren’t just end results—they’re the driving force that can propel your business forward through their positive recommendations and repeat business.
Unlike traditional funnel models, which treat customers as the endpoint, HubSpot’s Flywheel approach places them at the heart of your marketing efforts while minimizing friction between teams for a more seamless user experience across all interactions.
So, what’s the Flywheel all about? It’s a simple yet impactful method of connecting with audiences with three distinct stages: attract, engage, and delight.
Each stage is designed to seamlessly feed into the next, creating a continuous cycle of customer engagement and business growth.
In the attract phase, the focus is on earning attention through content marketing, SEO, social media, and targeted ads, rather than forcing it. The engagement phase concentrates on fostering relationships through personalization, automation, multichannel communication, and try-before-you-buy options.
Investing in the delight stage is all about providing top-notch customer service, personalizing interactions, and consistently adding value. This could be through exceptional support, tailored content, or rewards programs that show your appreciation.
Ultimately, delighted customers are your best marketing tool, driving new business through glowing recommendations and repeat purchases. When customers are genuinely thrilled with your brand, they become your biggest cheerleaders. This not only builds loyalty but also inspires them to share their positive experiences with others. They also tend to spend at higher rates, engage with other products or services you offer, and maintain a relationship with your brand longer.
The Flywheel isn’t just a marketing model, it’s a mindset that involves going above and beyond to make sure your customers feel valued and heard.
It’s always great to read tangible metrics tied to the strategies we discuss—it solidifies that success is possible with alternative marketing/SEO strategies, but as always, careful thought and consideration are required to achieve said success.
“I jumped in and started participating in as many open threads as I could that related to the services my company offered. I didn’t initially see any traction but after a few months, my work building thought leadership and brand equity on the platform started to pay off.
“Potential clients suddenly reached out, saying they saw my response on Reddit and were looking for exactly my expertise. We closed two clients from Reddit in six months, which is an incredible ROI (return on investment) given we only aim to have about a dozen clients at any given time and they generally commit to a long-term relationship.”
This serves as a reminder that making your properties compliant is not a one and done job; they should be routinely monitored and updated to ensure the user experience remains accessible. “The technology giant said recently that it will enhance features aimed at those with blindness or low vision, individuals with cognitive disabilities and physical accessibility needs.”
Hypha Highlights 🖊️
Here’s a brief overview of how we executed a complex Salesforce to HubSpot migration:
Back to the Basics: Our client migrated from Salesforce back to HubSpot, after realizing HubSpot’s user-friendly experience was the better fit all along.
Ease of Use Matters: Like choosing between a PC and a Mac, the decision between Salesforce and HubSpot often boils down to technical comfort. HubSpot’s out-of-the-box setup appeals to those seeking simplicity over complex customization.
Support That Matters: Unlike Salesforce, HubSpot offers localized help, ensuring assistance is just a call away within your time zone.
Navigating the Migration Minefield: We overcame fast-approaching deadlines and the fragmentation of data across multiple Salesforce sections. Among our solutions: leveraging a native Salesforce migration tool.
Amy Dodge, a HubSpot Platform Specialist, provided exceptional training services on the HubSpot marketing platform, catering to my needs as a new user and my specific marketing objectives. Her comprehensive approach not only covered the intricacies of the marketing platform but also offered an insightful overview of HubSpot’s CRM tool and Sales platform. Amy’s training was not just theoretical but practical. She ensured I understood how and when to use each feature effectively, from the initial setup to everyday usage. Her ability to answer all my questions, supplement our sessions with written tips and links to detailed instructions, and recorded our calls for future reference was invaluable to me. Amy’s delightful and engaging manner made the training sessions enjoyable, and I often wished our time together could extend beyond the allotted schedule. Without hesitation, I will request Amy for any future training blocks we purchase. Her expertise and personable approach significantly impacted my ability to work in HubSpot.
“Really Good Emails (RGE for short) aims to be the best showcase of email design and resources on the web. We’re providing transparency into product email and customer email cycles that are not available anywhere else.”
